HOW TO USE GUIDE
16 CARDS FOR 16 DAYS WITH BOLD VOICES
Each card has a specific theme that relates to gender-based violence and gender inequality that supports you to start a conversation - this might be with a colleague, in the classroom or over the dinner table.
Some cards are suitable for all ages, others may not be appropriate for a younger audience (some include reference to sex or violence) - please use your own discretion when using the conversation cards in your communities!
Your daily conversations might take 2 minutes or 2 hours.
You might find that you keep returning to the same card and finding new ways to answer the question.
There is not a ‘correct’ answer, and usually there are many ways to look at each question or issue.
The purpose of the cards is not to settle on a single answer, it’s to open up a conversation that you wouldn’t normally have.
We hope you will have some interesting conversations that take you to places you wouldn’t have guessed and get you thinking and talking about gender-based violence and inequality more than usual.
❗️ NOTE ON CONTENT❗️
Some cards will reference definitions or examples of sexual behaviour, sexual violence, gender inequality, racism and other forms of oppression. Please take care when using these cards and be mindful that these conversations might be upsetting for some people. We recommend checking in with how everyone is feeling before, during and after engaging in conversations like these.
